This review is based on the free DVD that came shrinked with subscription copies of The Skateboard Mag's Sept. 2007, issue #42.
At 20 minutes, this release from Vox seems short until you remember it was free... at which point 20 minutes isn't anything to bitch about. Black & Blue Vol. 1 is set up like a video magazine style disc except they don't really follow through on the expectation. Each segment is aptly titled a la video mag, but that's the extent of the analogy.
There's plenty of skating and tunes to keep you amped, just don't try to dissect the vivid world of skateboarding thinking you're watching a 411VM-style disc. Have a beer and relax.
