Skateboarding Book Review:Skate! The Mongo's Guide To Skateboarding

Skate! The Mongo's Guide To Skateboarding Four Stars

Author: Ben Bermudez
Publisher: 17th Street Productions
Released: September 2001
Rating: 4 Stars

Most books like this one suck. However this book is a shining gem in the realm of how-to sk8 books. Bermudez has a great sense of humor as he walks the beginner through the steps of becoming a skater.

He includes the requisite photo scenarios demonstrating many of the most common tricks. But before getting there he explains how to set up a skateboard and outlines all the parts and how to choose the best ones to suit your needs. How many times have you looked at the myriad of skateboard wheels and wondered what width, size and durometer were right for you?

Bermudez explains this and and many of the setup tips you'll need to get started. I would recommend this book to any beginner or anyone who wants to get an inside look setting up a board.
